Hi I am looking for some advice on our first trip to France next summer traveling out from Rosslare Around June we are hoping.. We have a nine and a fifteen Year old boys and maybe two to three weeks stay. I would prefer not to be driving a lot if we found a nice place to holiday in with shops and public transport.. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks Declan

Read through this section as there is a lot of advice on France including info on campsites not too far from Cherbourg. If you want to tour around to see things instead of being parked up for a couple of weeks get a copy of the book "all the Aires" as it provides a great reference for authorised parking at cheap and even free rates which are in towns and villages allowing you to experience the real France.
