Hi There
We have recently come back from France on our first trip in our camper- to France that is !!- and what an eye opener it was as in how much Campers are catered for there. We bought the book =- All the Aires North & South. It was a great help but some sat nav co where way out or we couldn't enter them !! We also found some on our own and we wild camped in a few car parks and beaches. The time we went Aug 26th - We arrived Calais -it was heavy rain but drove to Quend for the first night , that is when we started to realise - The French don't stay up late and there aren't that many -Pubs - in the Irish sense- They have a tendency to stick together and very rarely wildcamp in carparks. They park for the day then scatter to I assume to Aires or maybe campsites. We love to be in the action and we do sleep very well almost anywhere.
So I can just imagine what the French etc must think when they come to Ireland in the campers and cant find that many places to empty out toilets etc or able to park up without having to go to campsites !!
Ireland needs to catch up with whats going on , Even if we had Aires where you can only enter through a paid barrier ! I know I would for one be fine to pay for facilities
Moan over and looking forward to going to France again next year.
