Truma heator

Hi
Does any one have this heator in their van?
I'm a bit confused about how it works.
I've it working on gas but the fan is a bit load
When I put it on Electricity I'm not sure if it's working at all, it's still load but with very little heat.
In our old caravan I could have electric heat with no fan but I can't seem to do this with this one.
Has anyone any tips on using it?

I would be nearly positive a fan is not required with that heater, also I am sure it is gas only, non electric.

been messing with it all morning. think your right there's no electric element. the black switch seems to just be for the vents around the van.
still quiet noisy on the gas
maybe its just the way it is

if you are on ehu then carry a small oil filled radiator as it will soon warm the van up and no noise at all from it.

It should be almost silent on Gas.

its not as noisy as when the fan for the vents is on but there's diffidently a noise. it sounds like a fan.
is there a fan built in to push the heat out even when the vents are off?

That is gas only model , your fan spindles may need a bit of a clean and spindle lube its very dusty behind the cover , the heat brings it in from all over the van ( brushed under the carpet so to speak ) :D

I've being googling this, best I can find out is that the spindle is behind where the vent pipe connects.
Does any one know if this is correct?
Thanks

trev I had the exact heater in my last Hymer. There was an element but was only for 230V and had been disconnected by previous owner. Gas is silent and fan was loudish. The A position is supposed to be the thermostatically controlled blower I think. I also believe that you should only operate the gas heater with the fan to prevent overheating of the unit, especially when at full tilt on gas.

The fan is mounted behind the unit. It can safely be used without the fan, as the fan isn't always actually fitted to them. The A position is Automatic, where the fan speed varies with the temperature.
