Just thought I would update the info on the Aire at Donaghadee.

For tokens to gain access to fresh water or electric are no longer available from:
Centra Moat Street, Donaghadee.
This is because it is now under new ownership and has changed to Spar.

I have trawled all online references to this facility and and confirm that no other site has this information yet. I am sure it will appear elsewhere now..

Just back from a couple of days at Donaghadee. We didn't park at the Aire but parked down from the Community Centre beside the boat yard. A much better place and it made us wonder why the Aire wasn't put there. It has drains in the middle for grey water, handier to the Town and a less busy Car Park, loads more room also and we wouldn't be in the way of the dog walkers, Bowling Club and general sightsee'rs (sp?) not to mention better access into the car park also.

PS: we spent £109 between Pier36, Post Office, Co-Op, Captains Table.

Yes Ally lucky we were parked where we did, wouldn't like to be parked in the Aires in that wind.
Wouldn't like to tell you how much I spent, but in 1 shop alone we left £199.99

My goodness the shops can close after Ally and Ken were in Donaghadee. Hope you enjoyed Pier 36 our favourite place for food and they have nice Guinness which I take as a tonic.

So Ally you think it would be better to park in the location you suggest?

Depends on what you are after, if you want to be handier to the town then yes but there are no facilities so you would need to drive to the Commons to use the Aire if you need services. I'll be parking there again and not at the commons that's for sure.

Take a drive to both and see which one feels right.

Yeah there's no place like pier 36 and I've been around a few. Hope you had one of their steaks and a pint of the black stuff. Don't know where they get it but it's like what you get in Dublin.

Ella had scampi, Bryan had lamb shank & I had lobster - we all nearly licked the plates!
We had a bottle of morse code Shiraz between me & Bryan & I finished it off with a calypso coffee & Bryan had the Morgans spice hot chocolate!
It's a good excuse back to have the steak!!
We even had the nerve to ask for the bone for Polly! She is still chewing on it!!

We have just returned from few nights in Donaghadee ... the aire at the Commons. Great to have the facilities and to know that we are welcome here. Enjoyed lovely fish n chips from the Captains on two days. Tried out my latest acquisition. ?.a pedelec bike....great job. Only disappointment was the number of locals who didn't respect their area the way that we as visitors did....we clean up the mess our dogs make,. But a great spot nonetheless.

No worries. I keep much to myself anyways and didn't walk over to the others. I was parked beside and away from a group of 3 motorhomes nearer to the toilet block to the right of the service area. I did notice an A class at the service point when I arrived, but on my return later on Saturday eve after attending Pier36 it seemed to have departed. I presume that was you?

Drove past Donaghadee commons yesterday and there was a caravan parked in one of the service spots.
What next travelers?

Phone the council if you see that.
The tourism officer needs to be made aware.

Hi Viktor, you must have had too much at the Pier as we didn't leave 'til Sunday afternoon. There are times when it would be great to be invisible though. :D

Left myself about 2.30 pm and drove down the peninsula for the afternoon. It was my first time in Pier 36 and I wasn't disappointed. Excellent fare and very friendly staff.
