Had been trying to book for next week for roscoff. Couldn't get a sailing as all were booked out. Eventually got a sailing to roscoff with Brittany ferries from ringaskiddy and am going next Saturday...............but its costing me over 500e :( . IF were around 380 but I wasn't sure of my dates till now and up they come with 20% discount 🇧🇭 . What the eck.........am going to just chill on a site we found many years ago just 50 miles from roscoff.
Good luck to those of you with the discount and safe driving.  .

Did a dummy booking just now to compare prices we've booked with Stena for September.

Irish Ferries return to Cherbourg, reclining seats only, cabins booked out, with Rupert €458

Stena with 4 berth cabins with windows, same trip, different dates, also with Rupert €421

Glad I had already made booking with Stena

Guys, from my experience there is never ever anything for nothing.

My experience is different, my late Brother in Law and I travelled for 3 years on Eurotunnel for nothing - in fact we made a profit.

Robert worked out that using the late lamented "Points Plus" loyalty scheme it was possible to collect more points per crossing than the crossing cost.

All you had to do was change Sterling to Euros at the Travelex Bureau de Change on the way out and spend those Euros in the Terminal shop on the way back - easy to do if you were booze cruising.

A day return cost 600pts, a 5 day return was 900pts and a period return was 1200pts - it was possible to get 1500pts or more by exchanging the cash going out and then spending it on the way back.

At the time the scheme was finally cancelled, I still had enough points for 6 standard return crossings and ended up being forced to travel Club Class to use them all up in time.

There may not be any such thing as a free lunch, but you could get a free tunnel crossing.

Ahh those were the days.

I did a random quote using the stenaline booking form, unless the 20% is off the final figure (which I don't think it is), it's working out more expensive than this year by quite a bit
