Hi to all. Have booked roscoff from ringaskiddy for sat,29th.after several attempts to book irish ferries but most of their sailings are full for that week. Seems to be a mass exodus to France. Have never sailed from cork before and was wondering if any of you out there can give me an idea of what it's like. Is ringaskiddy handy/hard to get into to?. Sailing is at 4pm so will head early on the day...........about 3hours will get me down.
Any info will be appreciated.

Sailed that route about six years ago, no problems. Cabin and grub on the ship pretty good. No hassle driving in to the port, coming from Wexford I went through the tunnel and it was well signposted. There was a petrol station on the hill going down to the port, on the left so handy enough, if you need fuel for the body or the camper. Enjoy the trip.

If you park in Cobb the night before you can see the ferry passing in heading to ringaskiddy which is the opposite side of the harbour,

From memory its 2 exit when you come through jacks tunnel, follow about 3 miles mostly uphill to a roundabout, go left and another 2 or 3 miles brings you to ringaskiddy, ferry tied up on left as you come to the bottom of the hill,

As flipper said tis well signposted
