Mouse Squeak

 ·

On the way home on Monday when in traffic doing upto about 10mph windows open I was getting this dam squeak which seem to be coming from the front wheels.

Apart from stripping the brakes again and re greasing the slides (Replaced pads last year) does anybody have any other ideas what may be causing this, Hope that it isn't a wheel bearing going!!!!

I have a van conversion on a 2006 Ducato

Had a similar squeak on my old Ducats following a brake service and replaced servo. did all the usual inspections of wheels and suspension - only to discover it was brake fluid reservoir rubbing against some other plastic in the engine bay!

Common on Dukes, try get heat into the pads to "de-glaze" them.

Had this problem on one of my bikes. From time to time, the discs would glaze up and develop an annoying squeak.

I rubbed the discs down with scotchbrite pads & brake cleaner. Worked a treat. I'm told that poor quality brake pads are the reason for the glazing (under heavy braking), not sure how true this is.

Something tells me that Wurth's have some type of aerosol spray for squeaking brakes.

My brakes are squealing too - noticed whilst driving down the ramps at Cherbourg. My discs and pads were changed in Feb. It hasn't been as bad on the return leg but at low speeds it seems more noticeable. We have been fully loaded (including four bikes) so I have put it down to the warm/dry conditions in France.
