Plug in sockets

 ·
Posted: 09.08.2015  ·  #1
Hi, can anyone point me in the right direction. Last year I tried to plug in a TV and there was aloud bang. My plug in sockets are not working since(3). This year I had reason to send away for repair my electroblock and I'm sure it was fully checked out. On return my plug in sockets still don't work. Why so ? Cheers Wagi.

Without further info it sounds like your trip switch may be faulty as it should trip when moved,

Or your mains sockets are wired to an inventor instead of the mains???

When I got my motorhome I tested the sockets and found that the mains inlet socket had crossed the BLUE /Brown wires giving me reverse polarity at each socket. I switched the wires over and that sorted out the polarity.
Aldi have the plug in 3 pin plug to check for correct wiring at present South of the border.
This made me think - How did the previous owner manage? I know the potential danagers of reverse polarity after my French trips.

Perhaps you might check the first inlet socket that you connect your external power source into - Obviously when the power is not connected!!!!

Best of luck.

Hi lads,Thanks for all replys very helpfull. Trip switch on checking was found to be faulty. One last request. If I pour water down the sink or hand basin from say a jug it 100% goes into the tank.If I switch on the pump and pour water via the taps it drips onto the road via a small pipe under the wagon but you can still hear the water going into the tank. This little pipe is one of two similar to what you see at gutter level (overflow) coming from your water tank in the attic. How do I stop this drip. Many Many thanks in advance.CHeers. Wagi

Sounds like the dump valve has not closed properly, usually near the boiler, open it and close it, might be a bit of grit stuck in it,

Alas Max not so.Dump valve a bit stiff but ok ,dumps out another pipe a few inches away from the one that drips. Note you from Galway, I'm not far away. Do you think we could meet up,if so name the time and place. If not no harm done. Cheers. Wagi.

I'm in co Galway, about 20 miles northeast from the city,

As you don't have a location on your profile I don't know where you are,
And as you are not a subscribed member I cannot send you a PM (private message)

If you want to put up your number I'll give you a ring and organise something,

It's more likely the pressure relief /bleed valve from the top hose on the boiler so.

You take care Mad Max, as wagi is not subscribed he could turn out to be two 20 year old female nymophmaniacs who will force you to have sex with them to within an inch of your life.

Do you want me to accompany you?
