Some years ago we used an Aire in Auxerre. It was a great spot on the riverside just below the cathedral. There were a large number of vans there; maybe thirty or more.
Our journey this year will be bringing us back through Auxerre again and just as a precaution I checked out the Aire. I was surprised that I could find no listing of it, and a check on Google Streetview (Map date 2013) showed major work going on in the area.
I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of the situation in Auxerre? Is our grand Aire gone completely or just moved? I know there is another riverside Aire about 5KMs north of Auxerre but the town centre one is great. You can walk around the town and and enjoy a meal or whatever. We certainly have fond memories of our last visit there.
