Refillable Gas Systems

 ·
Posted: 23.07.2015  ·  #1
Hi,

I'm looking to see who stocks refillable gas kits in Ireland. I've been looking at gasit in Wales and there kit come highly recommended.

Also could anyone recommend the best place to have gas boiler/system serviced as I'm going to France in August and would feel better to have them serviced as we will be using gas to keep fridge on.

Thanks

Kevin

Hi Bob

How much did you pay for the tank setup? Have you any pics

Is it transferable?

Hamilton gas in Bangor sell gaslow kits and could recommend a registered fitter, I got mine off gas it in Wales as it was cheaper but not inferior and dealer fitted it to the MH

Hi Filofax

You might be better completing your location in your profile as we would know which fitter was best for you.

Also, if you are going to france make sure you get the filler adapter when you get your system. We have experienced two different fittings in France.
We are going to france in August too. What date in August do you sail ?

Hi Mark,

I'm living in Mayo. I've paid lifetime membership but still can't edit my profile.

Anyway I'm keen to have gas kit installed. Have you done this?

Ferry booked for the 4th but will probably push back a few days as young fella fractured his arm a few ago.

Regards

Kevin

Sorry I thought you could still edit your profile.

We have Gaslow in our van and it is great. I also think an underslung tank like Bobs is a great choice.

We sail on irish ferries on 10th August (our third french trip this year but first in the Motorhome)

It's our first time in France with MH too.

Did you install your system with a back plate? Would you have any pics.

I might try and install myself?

We got ours installed in the standard gas locker by Simon at LTS.

I don't have photos as the van isn't kept at home but to be honest it just looks like two cylinders.

Gas fill up

hi, I fitted a Gas-it twin 11kg bottle system myself in a not too rushed hour or so. Got another pipe I needed along with an adopter from Simon - Leisuretech - also got him to pressure test the system just to make sure all was OK. Great savings over refills and with a nozzle adapter you can fill up if on the continent. Reckon to recoup total cost in about 3 years.
PS there are other outlets who sell Gas-it kits cheaper than Gas-it themselves.
Regards.
