Dave he is on the campsite with the iccc rally finishing tomorrow. There is definitely no mh parking in this town only in this campsite .There is a sign up at Harbour car park saying there's room for 100 mh in this camp site maybe if they were put on top of each other
I would not use this palce if it was the last place to park in Ireland. The greedy owner of this site is responsible for the closing of the parking above the harbour.

Yes, I was surprised the ICCC held a rally there, one other Motorhome club pulled a meet there already after hearing the carry on. I must say I am with chalkey on this one, I never set foot in Dunmore east, not to mind that Campsite since.

I AGREE with chalkey and chausson we all know down in these parts that this greedy owner is responsible .The campsite is up a narrow road try getting down to village for food or a drink it is a joke shame because Dunmore east is beautiful the shopkeepers have pity for us definightly don't plan your stay at this campsite

I have stayed in this site (before, or too late to cancel after, the ban came into place). There is a back entrance to the site which was no problem getting in or out of in our 6 berth coach built, and we had no problem walking down to the beach or shops with our then 4 and 5 year old.
The site itself was a good layout, but the facilities were a bit small I thought for the size, so this isn't necessarily a recommendation. It's just that there's enough reason not to go on the basis of them arguing (and getting) the ban rather than other reasons that are subjective.
Also, in these cases, I always wonder about the poor shopkeepers and publicans that are missing out - they obviously aren't arguing that hard to keep the access to motorhomes. They keep getting out shouted anyway!

Cheers Baguette, always knew there was so much more to this story. The locals came out in favour, but had no say.

Planning Application: 11417 (Waterford City and County Council ) was granted 14/08/2012 and was for a Motorhome park development.
So, permitting caravans, tents or mobile homes to be placed there could be constrewed as contrary to the Grant of permission.
Motorhomes are after all a specific category of motor vehicle, not to be confused with trailer caravans, tents or mobile homes.

I guess he don't have 41 motorhomes to fill those spaces because of the way he treated Motorhomers that used to visit Shanoon. Now pressure should be put on not to let him change the planning to use of these spaces for other purposes. Was there not a sign up somewhere saying he had parking for 100 Motorhomes?

The South East which consists of the five counties of Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford. Fondly referred to by the 'Irish' as the 'Sunny South East', the region is famous for its vibrant towns, rural getaways and coastal villages and resorts.
