£11 !!

I thought it was a bit much so challenged it as I reckoned we should be classed the same as a private car, guy said that it was all done on height and a small campervan would be the same, well they are not the same height!

Also a car is £5.50 and a car & trailer £11.00, is that not length ! 🇧🇭

Thank goodness the tolls in the South don't have the same view.

Even though the M6 is costly and I hate paying them so much it's better than sitting for ages in the traffic around Birmingham.

It is even more complicated than that it is based on height AT THE FRONT AXLE and then the number of axles.

https://www.m6toll.co.uk/pricing/vehicle-classification/

If you want a shock work out the toll for a Bedford/Suzuki Rascal van towing a little Erde type camping trailer.

Hint - It is over 1.3m at the front axle and has 3 axles

I flatly refuse to use it - at least Dick Turpin wore a mask when he committed highway robbery.

No that is the M6 toll................. :bandit: :bandit: :bandit:

There are no controls by any regulator whatsoever on what they can charge - they can simply think of a number and times it by anything they want.

At 3am during the week you will fly through the M6 it is only a benefit during the day and at peak times, or a crash on the M5

I rarely use the M6 and have never ever used the toll section - BUT - at 3 am* I doubt if you could tell the difference except for having to stop and empty your pockets on the toll road.

* Unless something has gone seriously wrong or there are roadworks on the M6.

I have as much love for the M6 toll as I have for french Autoroutes ,a bit fat zero.At least the Spanish charge at the same rate as a car. When I am heading north from Colchester as I was on wednesday evening going to Liverpool I used the M1 to East Midlands Airport turn off at Jnt 23a then across A500 by Stoke on Trent and on to the M6 north. No problems even at 5.30 pm. No Birmingham, No Charges. I know this only helps if you are traveling from the east or London

Traffic around Birmingham earlier made paying the extortionate fee worth while as of 2hours ago, I am now sitting in Dover waiting on the boat to France.
