Battery boiling

Away in France this year and one of the leisure batteries boiled , I just disconnected the Neg and carried on with the cool one no problem , its the second time this has happened in about 3 yrs , does anyone know what causes it, ie have i got a problem somewhere

Might be just a faulty battery Dave, we had a new one fail in last van in less than 12 months.
Did you check it to see if it was over charging ?

I'd suspect your charger is supplying overvoltage.

If that were the case surely both batteries would boil?

It depends the way the cabling is routed, and the capacity and drain from the batteries.

Thanks Guys , the single remaining battery did"nt boil , the tempreture was 32 by day and 25 at night , the cool battery was the parallel one

Boiled battery fooked so have replaced both
