Hi all
Heading to france First week in July for 10 days heading from dublin to Cherbourg heading towards Lyon is there any nice camper stops we will have our 8 year old granddaughter with us this will be our first time abroad with the camper the wife is a little nervous any advise would be appreciated

There are more campsites than you can shake a stick at. Visit first and then decide. Aires, too, are often in central locations. Enjoy.

With an 8 year old campsites may be better as there is more to do , swimming pools etc. Aires are more for parking with little or no facilities.

As has already been mentiond there is no shortage of either.

The most direct route would bring you very close to Paris. With it being your first trip in the van and a nervous wife you may want to consider taking a less direct route. Perhaps via Le Mans and Orleans direction. Slightly longer but possibly a lot less hassle.

Try the ASCI campsite book or all the Aires france if you fancy trying them too.

I reckon it's gonna be busy in July,but we learned from experience we learned to drive till until 4/5 pm then look for a site. You will usually find one in most towns and villages so I wouldn't get stressed as there are municipal( council) sites all over. Enjoy.
