Yes the idea is save you money in the long run.
You won't have to keeping exchange bottles everytime your gas runs out.
I've also read the following
"Gaslow Refillable Cylinders can be refilled overseas. You cannot exchange Calorgas overseas."

I'm no expert on this end of it but maybe other people may verify that statement one way or the other. :-)

You get an adaptor to fill with autogas on the continent, in the UK or in Ireland. Great system, wouldn't be without ours, the money we have saved is amazing.

We have a twin 11kg Gaslow system. We had it transfered from out last van. Simple to fill from the filler cap. No need to lift a gas cylinder again. Gas works out much much cheaper than exchanging bottles.

I find it hard to get this one, I could buy 15 bottles of gas for the price of 2 empty gaslow bottles. I haven't bought 15 bottles of gas in my life time.

Agree with Ally - Main benefits are:

1) you can fill them in all countries that I know at any petrol station that sells auto gas - so no worries going abroad for long trips to different countries. (my main reason for installing them)

2) Convenience - you don't have to take them out to fill them - so no more lifting cylinders in and out of that little gas cupboard.

3) Although the gas is cheaper per litre or per kg it would take quite a long time to get a payback on the initial capital investment ... so cost savings would not be a major factor.

But your heating is diesel, mine is Gas. I mainly do not use campsites and when I do I ask for no EHU. On a cold weekend in January I could use a 6kg bottle.

I think refillable gas systems are great and I nearly got one fitted. But unfortunately, there is nowhere local to me that is convenient to refill.

The refill is about 50% less than bottle price. The convenience is priceless.

The other benefit is that you are usually only guessing if there is enough in the standard bottle for your holiday break , and end up replacing a cylinder that may have been 1/4 full or more just incase. With the refillable you can just top up.

Refillable bottles

I used to have 2 x 13kg standard bottles before I switched to 2 same size refillable bottles. It was not cost but convenience that made me switch. Lifting them, swapping them and replacing when they were not completely empty being big factors then add not being able to exchange calor etc in mainland Europe meant that for long trips the refillable option made more sense. Add an external BBQ point and it's a great system.
Like Ally my heating is gas, hot water is gas and the fridge is three way so I can use a lot of gas especially without an ehu.
Plus if you sell your mh you can take the bottles out and fit to another mh.
I think they are great.
