Hi Fork,
It's a nice spot on the shore of Lough Corrib. https://goo.gl/maps/oQ8Si

There is a nice little pub there also. It's a few (3-4?) Kms in from the main road. Luimnagh Pier (a little closer to Galway) is closer to the N84, there is more parking space but no pub.

Another option would be to stay at Campbell Tavern Cloughanover, just before Headford. Great spot for music and a bit of craic see the review section.

Campbells would be the handiest as its only 100mt off the main road,If you wanted a bit of life you could park in the docks in Galway

Thanks Taylor,Campbells looks like a perfect spot. :D
Hoping to park at the docks in galway on the way home.
What way does the parking meter work in the docks?
If you arrive mid afternoon, lets say, do you pay an hourly rate up to a certain time and then have to come back to the meter in the evening to pay the overnight rate
Thanks

The docks is an hourly rate (i think 2e ph)until 7pm and a 4e nightly rate.If you come early, park in the cathedral car park, its close to town and have a daily rate( not sure of the rate). You can move to the docks in the evening,i think its safer to park there at night rather then the cathedral.
