Hi Niamh.
A little more info might help.

Are you asking about a leak in the internal water pipes, exterior skin or gas system?

Hi Niamh,
Can you give us a bit more information, are you talking of an engine oil leak, Diesel leak or a water leak? What is leaking?

Sorry guys I should have made it clearer alright. In the bad rain on Monday we had a slow drip coming in and dripping overhead above the sink, we could not feel any water on the inside of the presses where it was dripping down, when we moved the position of the van it stopped but I'm wondering is it possible at all to find where the water is coming in or just best to do a seal job and if so what's good to use for the job? Thanks folks

I have used wurth bond and seal uv resistant in the past and find it does the job nicely,

Donagheys (advert on top of the page) in letterkenny stock it and do a super courier service, normally next day delivery,

Check around the sky light as water can travel along a few feet before it drips, so the leak may not be directly above the drip if you get my meaning,

As John says skylights and antennas are the usual places for water to get in. The only thing that I would add to that is if you take out the sky light to reseal make sure you remove all the old sealer and make sure the surface is perfectly clean before you use the new sealer especially if you are using Wurth Bond and seal because unlike the original sealer you will never again be able to remove it.

Thanks so much for that folks, very helpful, il look into taking out the skylight and re-sealing it as I've a feeling it's coming from there. Really appreciate the advice :-)

Is it messy to use? Would we need to use masking tape? TIA

Yes very! Use masking tape and vinyl gloves, you can get it in Black or White in similar tubes as silicone. If you get it on your hands you will be looking at for a very long time.

Hi Niamh,

Click here for more details on Wurth Bond and Seal.
If sunlight will get at it then I'd advise the UV resistant stuff as it won't crack under sunlight.
With Irish weather this sometimes isn't a problem
Better to be safe though

Regards
Michael
