Hi folks. Currently staying in loch Rinn campsite. I noticed as we were preparing to turn off the road to Loch Rinn a sign saying "Rooskey, - motor home parking"
Has anybody stayed their? Any info welcome.
Regards
Franco

Hi,

We stayed a couple of years back for a single night as we followed the Shannon North.

Parked by the river on the right hand side as you stand on the bridge looking downstream. This was basically a car park and was across the road from a Spar ( or similar ) supermarket. There were two or three other vans, and it was a quiet night although we could hear a pub 'getting out' late that night, but that was on the opposite side of the river. Not too intrusive.

This may not be the place you were asking about though.

Hope it helps.

Davy

Thanks TeamR. As I was returning home this am from Mohill I dropped by Roosky, and there were 2 vans there. It appears you can park there free. If you want electrics Follow the sign into the yard adjacent, and there are electric points there, at €10 a night. Also toilets in situ.. Hope to go that direction shortly and stay a night or two.

I agree. It is nice little spot right by the river.

The guy who runs it could teach some of the councils a few things.
It is a simple set up but it works.

Yes Mark just as you say, Kieran is a true gentleman and runs the site for parts of the year on an honesty policy. Once you have been there and got the code for the gate and then return, if he is not there you just go in and park.
When you are leaving you put your money in an envelope with your reg and put it through the shop door letterbox.
I think that this is a great we spot.
