im coming to dublin in august to see the tallships,
anybody got any suggestions where we can stop for the week near city,
our vans a little old toyota hiace rio camper 78 just big enough for me n the missus
but its 7 foot high .

You could stay in Howth and get the train into Dublin I see by your age you might be able to travel free
on the train We stayed in Howth a few weeks ago. On the center pier only theres no plugin its a wildcamping site
If you Google it and check it out train very handy

hi guys
if it is going to be the same as Waterford last year there was an official campsite in the city, that said we didn't stay there, we went to dunmore pier where there were a large number of campers great night

Apparently one of the piers at howth can give you a hook up once the boats have gone, you just put 5euro in an envelope and leave it in the harbour masters office, a Freind of mine does this a number of times a year and has been at me to try it but I'm never normally down that way except on business

about 500 yards.
just back from howth myself.
4.60 return per person to tara street
25 mins on dart

park in centre pier past sailing club.

why do you need electric?
only electric available is on first pier, only 2 points available.

a 3 min walk to dart train and very frequent service, there are public toilets at the start of the east pier 2 min walk from mid pier do not park where boats are working this is a busy but lovely harbour and dont abuse ehu or it will be cut

we stayed at howth pier one night and the people who parked there motorhomes either side of us thought it was funny to throw bread on the roof of our van in the middle of the night.the seagulls went crazy on the roof so be careful who you park beside ,lol

LOL..

I have seen that done in the past.

I must say we had a few seaguls on our roof at Howth but just put it down to them getting some heat off the van.

Bob had other problems with seaguls that weekend but I will let him tell you about that....LOL
