Hey all,

Just sold my VW Type 2 which we had for 6 years. I’m now on the hunt for a motor home.

I really enjoyed the VW scene and made many lifelong friends. I was looking around for a
motorhome site with a similar vibe (not too serious or bogged down by committees, AGM’s
etc.

Think and hope I found the right place :D

I would imagine you have found the right place. I am not too interested in the serious club type stuff and was happy to find this site wasn't bogged down by people who control the content like mad..

Not to interested in the Club stuff myself. Good luck with your search, with the recession there seems to be quite a few bargains out there.

I just have to finish a couple of things on the bus before I hand it over and get the rest of the payment. Once I have that, the search is really on.

Really looking forward to the space, the shower / jacks, and not having to make up a bed every night !!

It's original VW orange. I'm not sure of the actual name they had for it.

Probably in German anyway :P

Going for a six berth with a u shaped lounge or a fixed bed at the back. U shaped lounge would be better for flexability but would be happy with either in the right van. The nippers can sleep in the over cab bunk. It has to have 3 point seat belts in the back but after that, anything goes.

I know i'll have to take a hit on the year given our budget but hey, the VW was '78 so were moving in the right direction. TBH the year doesn't bother me as long as it's reliable, clean and doesn't need a load of work.

I had my heart set in a u-shaped lounge, wouldn't look at anything else, ended up with a fix bed and a garage :)

Don't mind at all. I did try a couple of times but it wasn't working for some reason.

I suppose when you see the right one you just know and everything in life involves compromise :)

I think that's about it. No matter what one we buy I am sure there is something we would like different.

I plan a few alterations, nothing serious but will just make it that bit better for us.

No1: Why is there 3 mirrors in the bathroom and none anywhere else, wifey has to hold the door open when she is straightening her hair, I was going to buy her a door wedge but she has told me I have to move one of the mirrors ;)

Hi,

Yeah she was clean. Imported from California 6 years ago so i didn't have to do too much to keep the condition up. No welding or anything done. And more to the point no filler !!

Shame but we just out-grew her 😢
