PIR awning light

Bought an awning light with PIR and photocell, same as the Ring one only a copy(dtec). For security, and I always leave the damn thing on :)

There are three connections, live, neutral and ON. Live and neutral easy enough and the ON connection is if you wish to wire it to a switch also.

Didn't work so got a replacement PIR detector, in fact they sent a whole new light, changed the detector, still wouldn't work, changed the light still doesn't work.

If I take the wire from the Live and put it to the ON connection it works, but as I don't have an inside seperate awning switch it is no good to me, plus I want it using the PIR and photocell, reason why I bought it.

Any idea's folks?

I have the ring awning light that I could not get to work either so I just made a bracket that slides on to the door of the gas locker and I have it wired to a small golf caddy battery that I place in the locker it works great I just set it up when I am parked on lake shores and I store it in pouch when not in use

Does it have a sensitive control? May need a tweak,
Also my shed light has a time selector and it has a little screw turn to adjust the time,

I may be wrong but worth a check

Nope nothing like that, it detects and stays on for a set time.

It may sound daft but those things sometimes only work in the dark after having been in daylight to recharge the built in battery.

No built in battery, also it's been on for over a week.

There is supposed to be a small red LED that lights up even during the daylight hours when it detects movement, no light here.
