Hi guys anybody come across a decent 12 volt hairdryer?Reading on line and everyone seems to rubbish all the models.Just wondering if any of the ladies found any useful one as the wife gives out about the lack of one.I know I could get a gennie put its a lot of hassle just to dry hair.Regards Michael

We use a 25000 KW inverter for a normal hairdryer and straighteners, but whilst it is running anything heavy have the engine running also, never seems to affect the battery that way.

Try Donagheys or LTS, quite expensive for a pure sinewave one, mine isn't, I think it was about £100. Wired direct to leisure batteries with thick cables and as I said keep the engine running whilst anything heavy is loaded, it never seems to affect our leisure batterys. Both items never on for that long.

Depends on your definition of "blow" and "hot" , there not really very good on the bosses hair if its long the power is not really enough in 12v

At 168 watts it is not going to do much. Most decent hairdryers are more like 1000 watts. Look it up on ebay, reviews are poor

Over the years the missus tried all types of hair dryers.none of the travel ones suited. I bought our present van on condition it had a generator so she could plug in. So we have a traveller 2500, used mostly for hair drying

Just go to a salon for a blowdry
Has worked for me for years plus I return to John feeling relaxed

I got a 1200 watt travel hairdryer and run it through the inverter. It’s only on for less than 10 minutes, so doesn’t take too much out of the batteries. If you have an inverter sized from 1500 watts up, it’ll work a treat.
