Wind down wheel carrier

I have just realised that I don't have the tool for winding down the spare tyre on my Possl Roadcamp that is on a 2009 Fiat Ducato Base. I've been told by a friend who took a look at it that "the winch mechanism is near the rear wheel arch and has a socket that needs a pentagon shaped bit". Can anyone tell me where I might get that piece of kit. I'm not sure I could change a tyre myself but if I had the right equipment I could get the spare down at least.

Sounds like an Allen key type,

Any chance you could take a photo and for sure somebody will point you in the right direction,

There's a guide how to upload a photo near the bottom of the main forum page

Hi

Hope I can help
I think that you have a van conversion of the Ducato a bit like my Tribby.

I am assuming that if you open the rear doors just inside you should find a couple of plastic covers on the floor you will find a bolt head One of these is the holding hook which you wind down and unhook underneath and the other may or maynot be connected to the wheel cage
Hopefully your wheel brace will fit
A lot of vans however DIDNOT have a spare wheel factory fitted so the first thing is to have a look under the back to make sure you have one
If you don't would suggest that you find a breakers near your as new Fiat want both arms and both legs for a carrier and the rest o fyour body for a wheel.

on some there was recall , it can be facing the RHS behind the rear RH wheel either . Earlier ones were 6 sided , later ones 5 sided . I'd have a spare 5 sided one in stock if you need it.

I am trying to attach some pictures - not sure if they will travel or not. In the meantime Tristan@PMH - the 5 sided one seems to be the one I need and as you say it is behind the rear wheel. It is about 2ft in from the side so I wonder if your one has an extension rod with it.

If you could send me a message I can e-mail or phone you and maybe we can sort it then.

Thanks
Aileen

Thanks to Tristan at Pat Horan's - couldn't have been more helpful. He supplied me with one part of what I needed and told me where to get the other part.

Thanks again.
