Motorhome storage.

Hi everybody.

We are new to this site and are just putting out a feeler for discussion and information.

Having a 7m camper here in France we have been paying to keep it garaged when not in use. Summers and winters can be harsh with opposite extremes. Temperatures in mid 30s in summer and down to -10 occasionally in winter.

We are now looking to buy a building to keep our camper, trailer and various other things in our village.
Now we are wondering are Irish, British or other Europeans looking for year round storage. If the demand is there we could offer storage for up to 6 campers with electricity for keeping batteries charged and the possibility of collecting owners from the airports of either Bordeaux, Toulouse or Bergerac.

Our village is only about 2 hours north of the Spanish border and 4 hours from the Mediteranean. Easy access to the autoroute network or national routes for touring France.

If anyone thinks there is demand please let us know or even just opinions.

Thanks.

I'm sure there must be a demand for that service particularly if anyone was caught for time and wanted to spend holidays in the South of France on a regular basis. I'll keep it in mind for the future.

We wouldn't use long term storage, but there must be many like us who are virtually full timers who occasionally want to fly back for a few weeks and leave the van on the continent. At the moment we have friends in the south of Spain who we can leave the van with safely for a few weeks, but it would be nice to have the option a good bit further north.
Good luck

Hi guys,
We would not, or be very unlikely, use your facility as we use our MH all year round. But there are 1000's if not tens of thousands of MH owners across Eire, UK and Europe. Now I would think that the vast majority of these owners, like us, will not want to use your facility. But at anyone time you are looking for just 6 clients. That is a tiny number and an even tinier percentage of the potential market. Also with forums and other online media it is relatively inexpensive to advertise your service. Your location is very good and the collection/drop off service at airports would be a big advantage. Bottom line for me is you should be able find the clients. The other question is does the potential revenue make it worthwhile.
