I got a roll of clear extra strong duck ultimate tape from screwfix online.
Waterproof and sticks to anything.
Might do your job

Replaced the material last year due to it ripping in windy conditions.

There does seem a fair collection of tapes etc

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=…lb1ourox_e

Best solution however would be to take the awning off (Full info on Fiamma site)

Your would see then that it is held onto the winder by a hem with a plastic tube insert.
If you have or know someone who could re-sow a new seam after cutting off the ripped portion it would make a better job
