Get a SIM for the internet and avoid costly charges

If you are heading for Spain for a couple of month’s motorhoming in the sun then the last thing you want to be without is a mobile phone. However, running up a large bill thanks to roaming data charges is not something to look forward to. That’s where the Cellhire 4G/3G 10Gb Spanish data SIM comes in. This costs £39.99 for 30 days’ usage and allows users to get email, browse the web, listen to music, watch video, upload photos and blogs and keep up with social media while travelling in Madrid, Barcelona, Palma or Malaga, or wider afield in Spain with 3G. All with 24/7 support.

An optional 4G MiFi is £27.99 extra, a 3G MiFi just £10. All prices include VAT. A MiFi acts as a mobile wireless router enabling laptops, tablets and smartphones/iPhones to get connected.

James Hepton, Head of Online & Marketing, Cellhire: “With no over usage charges there’s no risk of running up a large data roaming bill, meaning users can use the internet just like they would at home. Our offering is ideal for expats, frequent travellers and holidaymakers who want to stay connected without the risk of unexpected shock bills.”

The SIMs are locked to be Spain-specific and are currently available in the UK in standard, micro and nano sizes.

To order and for further information including typical data usage per email sent/received, web page visited, use of Google Maps, apps downloaded, music and video streaming go to https://www.cellhire.co.uk/products/spain/data-sim-card

Sounds reasonable enough and saves the hassle of trying to buy a sim in Spain....

But what about 3 and their feels like home, on pay as you go, how much is the equivalent one.

£15 gets all you can eat data on 3UK sim cards for 30days but if that would carry over to Spain?

As it is We haven't had coverage on either of our 3 UK phones for about a week (again). 3 UK say it must be the 3 Irelands Transmitter, 3 Ireland say its not their problem as our 3 Ireland sim is connected.

That should work as free roaming in Spain begins in April for Three. Don't think I have seen that offer, is that PAYG?

Any idea which carrier they use in Spain? Vodafone for example is virtually useless where our friends live.
