Katerine dish + skybox operation?

Hi all, I have a Knaus(1998) with Katherine dish to which the previous owner had coupled a skybox and TV.
It is the only installation in the van I havent cracked.
Does anyone perhaps have a manual or knowledge of this system. I am presuming it is capable of picking up sky, otherwise why would the previous owner have fitted it?

PS is the squareish shaped pne that is turned manuallu from inside the van.

I dont have knowledge of that system, but they are all fairly similar in what they do. I have a maxview system which is manual (except for lifting the dish) and once at the right angle 22-23deg usually, you need to point it at the correct satellite and for the life of me I can never remember if its the 19 or 28 deg East one, each has bbc etc on it but only one has the full range of channels, a satellite tuner of some sort is required to get it just right.

I use an app on my phone for a compass to get the general direction and usually it works. My tv has the satellite reciever built into it so I dont have to use a sky box, and I got that tv so I wouldn't have to run the inverter to power the sky box.

You will need either a sky box or a FTA (free to air) satellite receiver to get the channels on the tv unless the tuner is built in. Play about with it at home as you can get an idea of which way to point the dish from your own one on the house (if you have one!)

I think 28 deg east of south is where you will get most of the stations inc. free to air.

adjust the elevation first, it will vary depending on where you are. But in N Ireland it is 19.8 Degrees and you will need to raise the elevation the further south you go. A small meter will be a big help so you know when you have a signal. Start off once you have set the elevation and turn the dish from north east to west. 28.2 will probably be the first high power signal you get. Give the signal a little time to generate a signal. Digital is not instant and a few seconds will be required before you would get a picture .
