I have a 2002 fiat 2.8jtd ducato. First reg 2002..but it could be manufactured before that Now many thing you buy for it depends if it is pre 2002 or post 2002. themal external blinds being the latest thing i am checking. So i did some digging . I put the vin into a vin checker and it said Model Ducato'94 . On another vin checker it said 2001..which I suppose answers my original question

I then went and saw that the 2.8jtd was made from 2000 onwards. Anyway i can find out ??...or does it matter?? Is the external screens same either way?...would a universal do ??

As far as I am aware it is only the year model that matters for things like silver screens.
They will also ask if you have internal blinds in cassettes fitted ..

The year models are close to this.

1981 - 1993
1994 - 2006
2006 - 2014
2014 - date

I think this is correct or close to correct. If so it puts yours in the second generation. Your two checks are correct in a way as it is is a 94 Model year or 2001 manufacture year..

The Blinds/Silver screens are the same, the post 2002 have a silver & Black grill with a round fiat badge in the middle. The pre 2002 has a very narrow grill, it might be part of the Bumper even. By the way did you get a rear box?

First registered in 2002
The model which ran from 1994 - 2006

Thanks so much that helps alot...now any advice on the silver screen. I have a set of internals but the condensation is terrible. Any brand of externals better than any other ?

Either Taylormade or Silver screens, both similar, both from reports do the job well. Which ever is available for the least money.

I have only ever had silver screens and they are great.

That silver screen site is shocking for this day and age. No email address either to mail them. The Taylormade have a much better site. That alone would make me think of them...now have to see how much postage costs

Any good European makes? importing from the Uk is a complete rip off now with the current exchange rates. they can be picked up secondhand here on the site every so often, Don.

There was an offer on here a while ago for items to be posted to Ally and then on to the south at a very good price. I don't know if it is still available as I can't remember anyone saying they had used it.

As for silver screens, the site is poor but their product is great. If you phone him he will take payment over the phone and ships very fast. He seems quite odd on the phone but I have bought three sets from him now and can't complain about the items.
