hi all - stayed in salthill last weekend - checked with ken about parking near the promenade - the road beside leisureland was a suggestion but maybe a bit noisy - i had a drive around and the front carpark in leisureland is a nono with no overnight parking signs - however the much larger rear carpark has no such signs and no barriers - i parked there for 2 nights - quite and no problems !

Is this just an overnight car park or can you leave the motorhome there during the day? Thanks :)

Parking is possible during the day, you pay by the hour the exact figure I'm not sure but something like €2 an hour was mentioned

For all day parking try the back of the cathedral where there's a day rate for parking, or the dyke road car park has a day rate also, if using the dyke road beware as there was break in's there previously,

Enjoy Galway

That's great thank you.

Parked in Galway City loads of times in the past but disappointed to hear this is no longer possible.

You can park in Salthill in the section just before the prom starts. Alongside the green in the screenshot below. Not a lot of space in comparison to the section from there to Seapoint but you might get lucky and get a space.

The black box carpark on the Headboard rd, or the cathedral car park.

If you are driving in towards town from the Headford direction. You will pass the bridge on your right, Galway shopping centre on your left, McDonalds and Cinema on the Right. After you pass McDonalds, take the next right and right again onto the Dyke road. Entrance to the car park will be a little further on the right.

53.278883, -9.051838

Just make sure you are approaching it from the town side as there is a low bridge further out the Dyke road.

Yes as Ken says Lidl is on your left.
