has anyone out there actually used this device which is now available to non french drivers. It seems handy but im sure there are hidden costs. So I was wondering if its worth signing up to?

Any actual experience welcomed?

I havent looked into it myself but unless you intend to use a lot of tolls then why not just use a card or pay in cash as you go. Travelling by motorway while faster leaves you missing the countryside and villages which are part of the character of France.

We haven been driving through France for 25 years so by now we know where we like so want to get there without delay. Running through tolls without hassle of cards/cash is very appealing as we travel for 5 weeks in July/Aug when roads can be busy...so toll device could be worth a try

It's a pity it isn't available for vehicles over 3.5 tonne. Toll tags are great if you are using them a lot. :'(
Especially on the continent where the driver is on the long side of the vehicle to pay the toll charge manually.
