hi all, can anyone recommend any spots in Alps/Pyrenees where uplifts still operate in summer taking folk to higher walking routes. Im also interested in recommended hiking routes.
I know that Alpe D'Huez and Les Deux Alpes have summer uplifts. Im not looking for climbing just hiking with children.

Arinsal in Andorra operate the lifts during the summer as well as having other activities on to keep children occupied. Check out the Valnord website for details.

Can't help with cable lifts and such.............but a few years ago we stayed at Europa camping in Jean Pierre de port and just put on the back packs and took off. We were amazed at the amount of walking /hiking we could do and without traffic to worry about. In 2013 we started the Camino de Santiago from the town and we will be back there to do the section from St Jean to a nice hostel on the route which brings you into the foothills of the Pyrenees. Don't know if this is what you are looking for but we really enjoyed the relaxing walks we took. There's a municipal site in the town which was full in early may but camping Europa was just a 10 minute cycle from the town. Facilities were clean and the pitches good.
