Hi all,
Am thinking about going to Disneyland Paris this year, are there facilities to stop/ stay overnight at DLP, and has anyone tried out the Annual Passport, for E169? Would love to hear from anyone who went in their motorhome. (Kids are 6 and 7)
I've not been to DLP and based on feedback (on here and other forums but mainly from my brother) I've no intention of ever going. My brother has three boys (all young adults now) and as they lived in Europe they did all (well a hell of a lot) of the usual attractions. The universal conclusion from them is that DLP is a rip-off and, in their opinion, Europa Park is a far better than DLP. They have gone to EP more times than they can count and despite living in Paris only ever did DLP once. Even now the boys go back to EP whenever they get the chance.
So armed with that recommendation we planned a our last European trip (summer 2013) to include Europa Park. I have to say we loved it and the kids had an absolutely brilliant day. Ours were 9, 7 and 5 and it was a great age to do EP. You wont be doing the big stuff but there is so much there for the little ones. I won't go on any more about it as given its location (it's in Germany about 1hour south of Strasbourg) it may not be an option for you. (If it is I'm happy to give you more info.) But on our trip we passed within a few km of DLP (we visited my brother in Paris). Did we regret by-passing DLP for EP? Not in the slightest. Did we regret doing a much longer trip than say DLP as our furthers point? Not in the slightest. In fact, we plan to go back to EP when the youngest will be tall enough for the big stuff. Only several hundred sleeps to go
*Cost wise it doesn't make sense to travel all way to EP just to do EP vs DLP as you will spend way more on diesel getting there and back. But if you are happy to spend your holiday visiting that part of Europe then EP is a great attraction to take in.
