Visiting Disneyland Paris

Hi all,
Am thinking about going to Disneyland Paris this year, are there facilities to stop/ stay overnight at DLP, and has anyone tried out the Annual Passport, for E169? Would love to hear from anyone who went in their motorhome. (Kids are 6 and 7)

At Disneyland Paris, there are toilets and showers available for campervan use, there also water and waste. We get the annual pass fancillian and use it 3 times during the 12 month period. The card allows you to stay for free overnight in the aires, other wise it is €30 per night. There are usually plenty of vans there, fantastic place to stay, takes all the pressure off visiting DLP. Hi Mollyb, been twice with kids in van in 2011 and 2013. The car park is ideal with decent enough showers. The waste dump area is useable but expect queueing in summer. Food in park is v pricey for what u get but there is a big McDonalds if interested at more reasonable prices,. Bring plenty of picnic food. It isnt too far to go back to van at lunch and a big chunk of the walk is on a rolling walkway to save the wee legs from getting cranky. Your ticket allows multiple entry.

Taking the train from Disneyland to Paris on a daytrip is another option.

One stop away from Disneyland on the metro there is a large shopping centre with supermarket, all the usual shops and several restaurants.

I also recommend going out the one train stop about 2-3 mins, there's lots of trians in and out and the price difference is huge. For example even the McDonalads is about half the price it would cost you in the Disney Village where the ques are long and the food is fired out at you.

Just to note there is a petrol station where you can get esentials, its about 5min walk from the motorhome parking.

I know this thread is a little dated but rather than starting a new one I thought I would ask here.

How long would people recommend to stay as Disney to get around most of the park and the rides. Two 29 year old 'responsible' adults heading there in July...

We haven't been for a few years but we always visited the park for 2 full days.
I would imagine it is much bigger now than it was then. Waiting time for rides can be long in high season.

Evenings in the village can be great.

I am sure someone who has been recently will have better advice.

Thanks Mark. We had 3 days in mind and it seems to be working out just as cheap to get the annual pass as to pay for just 3 days. That's including the parking. Might be an excuse to go back again at some stage with the annual pass.

My sister who lived near Disneyworld at Orlandoand had an annual pass for years went there with her kids when she moved back here and was very very disappointed she reckoned it wasn't worth more than a day.

When we went there with our daughter and grandchildren a few years later we were similarly disappointed as only about half the attractions were open and we managed to do everything we could in a day.

I wouldn't even consider going anywhere near it again - it really is a rip-off, prices for anything other than the inclusive rides are ridiculous.

We went there the day after visiting Plopsaland at De Panne. We paid full price at Plopsaland and had "free" tickets from Sky for Disney.

The "free" day at DLP cost more than the paid for day at Plopsaland.

Sorry Disney lovers but I think they take you for a ride (if you can find any working).

PS The kids enjoyed Plopsaland more than Disney and Plopsaland don't charge 30€ to stay in their car park.

Did we regret doing a much longer trip than say DLP as our furthers point? Not in the slightest. In fact, we plan to go back to EP when the youngest will be tall enough for the big stuff. Only several hundred sleeps to go

*Cost wise it doesn't make sense to travel all way to EP just to do EP vs DLP as you will spend way more on diesel getting there and back. But if you are happy to spend your holiday visiting that part of Europe then EP is a great attraction to take in.

I really appreciate the feedback and info. I'm not too sure what to do now. Part of our trip is to go toward the east coast of Italy so it might make more sense and be more enjoyable to go to Gardaland or some other similar park on our route. A little bit more research required!

My personal view is that DLP is the usual Disney experience of "hidden" queues and rip off pricing, coupled with French standards of "customer service"

Disney is good for younger kids with the "magic" factor and princesses etc but Pou du fou http://www.puydufou.com/en/ is amazing. My kids 12 and 7 thought it was fantastic too.

Seconded - we went there last year bought a 2 day ticket for less than the cost of one day at DLP.

PdeF also has a proper Aire with hundreds of pitches, water, waste disposal, toilets and some EHU points.

Unlike DLP all parking is free during daytime and only it only costs 6€ to overnight (01:00 - 07:00) in the Aire.
