Bit of advice needed please

Hi all, just brought my 1987 swift/talbot 2.5 camper to doe, got a few usual jobs to do, mirror glass not right etc.
Guy told me that there was some rust and a small hole on the inner sills under camper rear coach body , the original sills from talbot van, which are only visible on a ramp. Not the chassis rails.
And that was a fail.
I said that it is not structural and he said "it could be" and that he wants an engineers report done, "if it all falls apart the engineer can be responsible" I was told.
He then gave me a RSA modification report to give the engineer.
I told him I have not modified the vehicle in any way since swift built it in 1987.
I said I would repair the sills, but he still wants this modification report.
Can anyone adviseme please
Mitch

Go to a different test centre as that tester sounds like he is trying to make life awkward for you,

I'd get the jobs done he said to but not heading the mod report and retest elsewhere

I think you have to do the re-test at the same centre that done the first test.

See CLICK HERE

Under If you fail test.

Not if you are a stubborn lad like me and pay the full price to do a full test (not retest) at the different testing station

I find you are better off giving it to what ever garage you use and let them bring it in if it is getting older, they don't seem to get as much hassle.
