Med Aires

Hi Any suggestions for aires on the French Med - the Eastern side of France on the Italian side rather than beside Spain?
Have looked at the Aires book, but recommendations would be welcome as the book does not give much detail as to whether the roads nearby are busy.
We prefer quieter spots. Any ideas please?
Thank you. :D

Have you checked out the reviews section ?
I have submitted a few for the Med but maybe not far enough East for you.

Hi Mark, yes had a wee look at these, was thinking of somewhere further East, but nothing yet decided and with Motorhome of course a plan is nothing more than a changeable suggestion!!!
Thank you

I am also planning a trip along the Med coast and into Italy as far as the Cinque Terre beyond Genoa in May and June.
I have identified some together with some ACSI sites. I have no idea whether their location is noisy or not. I do know that the one at Port Grimaud is beside the main road with heavy traffic. Likewise the one at St Maxime. However most of them cost €12/€16 for 24hrs and I might as well stay at an ACSI campsite. I have details of one at Cap d'Antibes 3km from Antibes beside the beach but dont know if there is a charge. GPS co-ords are N43.554162 E7.136006. There is another in the carpark at Hyper Casino Supermarket, Avenue Francis Tonner, La Bocca, Cannes with a Flot Bleu service point. You can park beside or at rear of supermarket also cheap fuel. Havent been there so cant give recommendation. GPS co-ords are N43.550134 E6.971147. If I get details of any others I will let you know. Ian

Hi Richill, you commented about how busy the roads would be. If it is later in July and in to August they will be busier than anywhere else in France. So if it is plan to do your manoeuvering between locations at night. All sites fill v.quickly in high season.

Stayed in the wire at Port Grimaud last September, the noise from the traffic was unbelievable 3 am locals racing everything from scooters to sports cars.
we left as soon as we could and did not pay, definitely a no stay.

Thanks everybody for your replies. Travel time around the Med will be first two weeks in June.
Thanks for the camperstop site, had not seen this one b4.
ACSI may be the way to go as they are as cheap as most sites!, although will need an aire for a night or two b4 heading back up to Germany via the hilly region of the Alps.
