My Motorhome: Dethleffs 7871-2

Tag axle

I have a Dethleffs 7871 tag axle. The weight plate under the bonnet indicates a GVW of 4500 KG but the Dethleffs tag in the habitation area has a GVW of 5000 Kg. Which is correct and how do I make sure I stay legal?

Your registration documents would be the starting point to see what way it's registered failing that give Donaghys a ring as they are the dealer and could shed more light on the subject.

I thought usually the one that is added latest is the one you go by, so 5000kg.

Do all vans have a rating plate in the habitation area? Cant remember seeing one in mine.

Thanks folks. My registration documents show 4500 KG and the last plate is 5000 KG. Perhaps the registration documents are incorrect.

Very possible the reg document is wrong,
The Irish reg system is very very grey when compared to dvla,

Must say, I would have thought the DVLA was much older than the Irish counterpart.

Good news. I got it sorted. I explained the problem to the authorities and I am now in posession of a new regristration certificate.
