I bought one of the trucker ones off amazon for around £50, it may not have the data base of campsites etc but there are plenty of directories available which list those. Couldn't bear to part with the sort of money the camper ones cost.

It's basically the same as the one in the motorhomecraic shop on page 2, it's a 7 inch screen and allows vehicle dimensions to be input to warn of low bridges etc

I had a Garmin Dezl, gave it to my son now. It was a truck one, wasn't that impressed, seemed ok at the start but it would take me down roads and then warn me I shouldn't be on it when it should of avoided the road in the first place.

I use Navfree and google maps now on my tablet, preferably google maps but it needs an internet connection so I use Navfree when I am in the south as I can't tether and it doesnt require a connection.

Nope not had the camper or the truck one because like FC says I couldn't bear to part with all that money

I just stick with the one designed for cars.

I still use paper maps as well for route planning. If I can get internet connection I use google maps on the laptop for planning only - while driving
