Fire/Heating

Hi, I'm looking for someone to advise me of any reliable contractors who would have a look at my fire. Boiler works fine but for some reason the fire won't light. I can take it to one of the big companies like Hagan's if I have to but would rather have someone recommended to me. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advice

I see you are in Belfast.
You could try LTS. It is owned by Simon and they advertise on this site.

If you do go there make sure you tell him he was recommended on Motorhome Craic.

Probably a board or something that needs replaced. Simon as Mark says at LTS will sort it out and his charges are reasonable.

Apologies for hijacking the thread but does anyone know of anywhere I can get my gas fire looked at over the Christmas holidays - I am in Mayo. Couple of places I looked at are closed from now until the 5th of Jan. It's a truma s3002 and I am fairly certain the thermostat on it has gone. Trouble is I am meant to either Hungary or Spain straight after the new year.

Cheers and thank you

TAYLOR.

Truth is I have hardly used the heating since I had the van. But the last time I used it the burner ignited but the fire didn't get hot - bit like a lit pilot light I suppose. I then touched the thermostat and it burst into life. I tried to light it yesterday and I can't even get the pilot light to light now - reading on the Internet (fatal I know) I am guessing it's the thermostat and safety cutoff valve that's gone. I don't know enough about gas stuff to do much more then look at it to be honest.

Did you know there is an battery for the ignitor situated on the base of the fire, ours is right inside the cover on the bottom right.
Ours didn't work and we replaced the battery and never looked back. Can you hear the ignitor click? Hope this helps.

Either the mesh is lifting on the burner, or the valve is sticking I'd guess.

Home store & more have 600w mini oil filled radiators for E30. well worth it to keep a bit of heat in the van, and safe as well.
