Gas generator fitted to your Motorhome: TELAIR

Uses your existing habitation gas tanks. You can use your 240volt and it will charge batteries automatically if wanted.

Downside: £2500

The ECOENERGY range will make you independent from charging stations - ensuring long range and comfort.
Immediate current output via an inverter allows household appliances such as hair driers, toasters or microwave ovens to be used efficiently as required. You'll be able to enjoy your summer even in + 50°C temperatures as your ECOENERGY ensures maximum comfort without having you worry about battery consumption. The living will be easy in wintertime, too, because ECOENERGY can guarantee a continuous source of power down to temperatures of - 25°C.
Eco-friendly: LPG (or propane gas) operation to ensure compliance with the latest environment protection standards.
Low-noise: the operating noise is extremely low (51dBA only) and muffled: no more complaints from your neighbours!
The “Motor dynamo” system will produce 12V electric energy with an impressive 20 - 25 Amps/hour according to models. No extra tanks needed as the gas bottle already part of your camper equipment will be used. A small-sized, compact, lightweight system - offering ideal, safe solutions for underfloor external installation also in campers with low-floor chassis.
Unrivalled performance when it comes to withstanding countless power on/power off cycles.

That looks very neat.
I can't figure out the consumption at all

The website says it uses 270 g/h.
If that is 270 gallons per hour does that mean
270 gallons = 1227 litres
1litre = 0.5 kg (approx)

So my tanks are 22Kg which = 44kg
Does that mean 44kg would be used in 27minutes running time?

Or am I really bad at maths? LOL

I do understand it wouldn't run for long periods and only when the batteries drop below a set level.

I am non technical but my on board gen runs on gas from the same tank as everything else in the van it does everything that one does including running the aircon
It is not hard on the gas but it is not quiet.

I think its grammes per hour which gives you 162 hours of running

Thanks John
That make more sense. LOL

Whilst it's a nice piece of kit in my opinion its very expensive. a Honda 20i would do the same thing.

I have the Honda jack great piece of kit but the fact that you have to leave it outside and it's a small bit noisy I would go for the gas as it is on board and out of sight

I don't understand watts, volts, amps, ohms and gnomes. But am I right in saying that it would charge the batteries a lot quicker than a genny?

Genny's in my view are not great at charging batteries as they are limited by your on board charger, excellent for 240volt but if you want to charge batteries you would be a long time spending a Honda Genny's expense in diesel by starting your engine.

Anyone I know who carries a petrol generator complains about the smell of petrol and not being able to leave the machine outside unattended.

This one would eliminate both of those issues.

Also intrigued by this as it is the same price as the Efoy, you don't need extra fuel that you need for the Efoy and it seems to be a lot lighter and more compact.

Ally for charging battery's I would probably stick with the sterling battery to battery idea.also maplin online has 1000w pure sine wave inverters for £129.
Julie could then use the straighteners and hairdryer! Also you could probably find some use for it!
Afterwards just start the van and the battery to battery will top the leisure batterys as fast as a generator..
Steven.

We have a 2000watt Inverter fitted now, talk about someone being happy that they can now use Hairdyer and Straighteners!! :D

B2B is certainly a lot cheaper than the item above and also a genny.
