battery choice

hi, I need to replace my leisure batteries. Id read that it is better to have both the same capavity, age and type. Any recommendations based on actual good experience in terms of type. I have space for two batteries under each of the front seats for batteries no more than 38cm long. In terms of capacity i'd probably get away with 160AHr total. I dont have microwave of sat dish etc, just a TV, DVD player and the usual pumps and fans. I will be repkacing all bulbs to LED. Prices also welcomed. Thanks

My opinion.

Don't go for expensive ones, buy cheap and look after them by not fully discharging to often or at all if it can be helped. I use budget ones and they are great I think they are just called "premium".

There are a load of threads on here about batteries, one being "no such thing as a leisure battery" :)

It is definitely recommended that you fit two the same as the same time.

Everyone has their own opinion on what to buy.

I bought two 110 amp elecsol batteries for our last van. They professed to be fantastic quality and gave a five year guarantee. Both of mine have up after 30 months without warning. They were replaced under warranty and were in the van when I sold it 18 months later.

Our current van has two 100 amp Banner batteries but it is only about six months old so it's early days.

So as Ally says, cheap May do the job well.

I use Numax 110 leisure batteries , I find wet cell leisure batteries last a lot longer than dry cell ones , the alternator charge seems to be very hard on dry cell batteries.
