Our insurance renewal has just arrived from Dolmen Insurance.

This years premium is £255 sterling which is pretty good.

I checked with another local broker to see how they compared. They came back with £775. A bit of a difference?

Dolmen offer an online payment option at an additional charge of 4%

One thing I have finally managed to get from them is the continental recovery. I had been lead to believe this was provided as part of the policy.
It would appear that it only covers the cost of callout and one hour of roadside assistance and towing to the nearest service provider.

Looks like additional.continental breakdown cover should be purchased. One which includes repatriation.

Mind you, at that price it is great.

Thanks Mark, Maurice and Bob,

Never heard of Dolmen. We just went to our broker who our cars and bikes are insured with and got them to insure the van AND it is nowhere near the price quoted by Mark, and Mark, if you are the person we met a couple of years ago in Castlewellan I can assure you our van is absolutely no where in the same league as your van... Just going to google to check Dolmen (although ours doesnt need renewing until December) 😠

No wonder our broker sends us a lovely christmas card and calendar :D

This forum is amazing.

Have been with Dolmen for years but are with the caravan club now only changed over because I got a years free ins with the new van and was going to go back to dolmen last year but there was only £10 of a diff and you get the red penant continental cover cheaper if you are with them so nothing in it Edd

Hi Dan and Bob
Welcome to the Craic..

If you are in the north you could try the Post Office.

I have used it for a caravan a few years ago
