Stayed at a great one last year, really friendly owners and nice facilities, I have it written down somewhere so I will find it out.

Found it:

Beckses caravan and Camping site Postcode: CA11 0RX tele: 017684 83224

It's on the A66 not far of the M6.

Few miles away from the lakes but only 10 minutes or so drive.

Hi,

Whilst staying with C&CC at ambleside rugby club, we discovered an aire based at the local football field.

Did not stay on it but it is about £7 pn, secure, open 365 days and like all aires is basic but is 2 minutes walk from centre of ambleside.

Think it is called Miller Field Aire. Google it and you will find loads of links to www.motorhomefacts.com and other forums with info on it.

Also stayed at C&CC Keswick clean big site very busy MUST book, very close to town centre.
