When I came over I had uk tax and insurance until I registered it and did the doe test. I have not taxed it yet as it is off the road. But I'd like to take sweaty 2 for a spin soon. Can you tax a MH online here or do I need to go to a post office/ council office in ROI and what documents are required either online or in person?
I am aware the road fund licence is very cheap for MH here at 102 euros.
Thanks for any advice or help in advance.
P.S. The MH is insured, doe'd and registered here now..

I had to take mine into the motor tax office for inspection because I was taxing it in my name for the first time and I had to make an appointment for the inspection make sure you have all your documents in order or it could become a drawn out process

Current insurance cert doe pass cert which will let you tax the van the doe centre looks after the crv cert you may have that if not it will come in the post bring anything else you have
I would give them a call to make sure the inspector is there to look at the van otherwise you will have a wasted journey every county differs in this regard bring any documents you have to do with the van hope it ok first time for you 🇧🇭

Do I have to take the van? If it is not taxed how does that work driving on a public road?

If the Motorhome is Registered here, you should be able to Tax it in your local Council Office by Filling out a Form RF100A
https://www.motortax.ie/OMT/pdf/RF100A_en.pdf
You'll need to bring Your Insurance and Your Doe Cert.
You don't need to bring the Motorhome
The Previous Posts that Mention an Inspector,I presume are Referring to Vans Converted to Motorhomes. These need an Inspection to see that they Comply to Certain Regulations

If you are stopped you will have your documentation with you so that should be ok my motorhome is not a conversion but they still wanted to see it they said when taxing for the first time or change of ownership they want to see the vehicle no harm to ring them and see what they require
The make/model on the old tax disc stated unspecified and I had to send the registration certificate off to have it changed to the actual make and model of the vehicle
It was a lot of hassle maybe you will be lucky with your local authority
