Prior to getting to Ireland I did not use Facebook, Amanda did not use Twitter but after going on an excellent course part paid for by the Tourist Office (they pay 20%) all has changed.
For the website we needed a blog, what to write about was the question? And so Motorcraic inspired my first blog, thank you all. Click the blog if you want to read it.Blog

Many thanks peeps. I will be bumping into you all some time in the future either here or at another meet as Sweaty 2 my camper is getting very bored with driving around my roundabout and really needs a trip out.

Hey no worries neither did I up until recently but as a business tool it is very useful to let people know what's new what's happening and generally to promote your page or in some cases self. It's also very useful to people with friends or family abroad as you can send a photo or message etc to all without have to email or text all. Be warned it can be something that takes over your life if you let it.
We are hoping to head up your way soon anywhere you'd recommend as a must do?
Regards Jamie

Jamie, do you think the Tourist Board would pay for us all to go on such a course? O-) :D

Strange but I come from from Port Isaac in Cornwall a real tourist area and there is no help from the Cornish tourist board or English tb but in Ireland the opposite is true. Plus in many villages I've lived in with a small population pubs and businesses compete with each other. Here they work together to promote each other. And yes I believe the discount for 3 day course us available for all.

Hi Pat no we are not open all year round, the main reason for buying the campsite was give us time to get away in our van so we close at the end of October and open again in March which gives a few months to get away and enjoy ourselves.

We too want to head up your direction is there a surf school near you? My 9 year old wants to learn?
I would like to sit and read and watch the world go by and by and by.... with a larger glass of red wine.

Glad you've got good taste in wine Shiv there's nothing like a good glass of red French wine.

There is one at Kilkee (11km) from us I'm not sure about doughmore where trumps has his course but it's an excellent surfing beach. There is kayaking here and a nice beach at White Strand just up the road. The 5 pubs in the village (for the 312 residents) 5/10 mins walk away all have good wine.

That would be nice, there is a late festival at the end of Oct which will be our last weekend but it might be a bit cold for surfing then!

What festival is that Jamie? Is it the bank holiday weekend or the weekend after?

24 to 27 of October see for more details; http://www.williekeanememorialweekend.com/
I have no knowledge of the event as I was not here last year but the village has some really well organised events so I would expect this to be equally as good.

We stayed with Jamie and Amanda for a couple of days at Strandcamping and I must say they have a lovely site, and are so inviting and easy going .We'll be back and hopefully the weather will be better the next time.

Hi Jon, I think you made the right decision it stayed the same all day, but the good news it has cleared today, the wind has dropped alot and the sunshine is back out. All the best and hope to see you again in the future.

Hi Ken this will be our last full weekend of the campsite being open before we shut for the winter and take ourselves off to Europe so it it would be good to see you again.

Regards Jamie.
