We are getting the 8pm ferry from Holyhead to Dublin and so will arrive in the port around midnight. The plan is to get out of the port and drive an hour or so heading west ( first destination should be Bundoran). Any one have any suggestions for somewhere to park up for a nap around 1am en route to the West? We are in a HOme converted Semi High top transit.

thanks in advance

ps love the site.

Howth pier would be quite handy.

Bundoran not camper friendly.

If you fancy parking at mother hubbards restaurant that's an hour from Dublin in the direction of bundoran,

Follow M4 west from Dublin, jctn 9 for Enfield, follow R148 west bound (old N6 before motorway) signed for kinnegad, mother hubbards is next gap on left after moyvalley garden center,

Mother hubbards is a favourite stop for trucks (well it was when I was driving one) with plenty of room to park,

I have not been in a few years but there wasn't any bother parking last time I was there,

Hope you enjoy your trip,

*****up date*****

I passed mother hubbards this morning and most of the parking area is sectioned off with a series of gate, it looks like our distant country cousins did it again, :-|

We spent last Sunday afternoon at Howth before catching our 20.30 ferry to Holyhead, perfect for your needs and a beautiful place to have a walk around in the morning.

I am not sure about where to stop for your nap, I would stop in Bundoran but wouldn't stay there myself. There are much nicer places to stop over than there fr the night. Just my thoughts though.

Yeah I agree Shiv I would definitely give Bundoran a pass and I was born and grew up about 15 miles from it. 15 minutes is enough for me in that place.
