Over night spot for the Dublin to Liverpool Ferry

Hi all had a look at the POI map and see there are 3 near the port. I am heading over to the uk on Friday 7 of Nov, early ferry and would be wanting to stay somewhere close to the Ferry. Can I have your recommendations please? Don't mind a campsite, carpark or wild camp.
Thanks in advance.

Howth is where I would stop its a straight drive down to the docks along the coast road

Yeah Howth would be the most convenient. Camac is the other side of the City and traffic would be a problem.

Many thanks to you all, it's made me quite jealous seeing all the campers turn up here having fun. Now looking forward to just cleaning my own toilet for the winter. I've seen on uk forums where MH users have detailed their costs on longer trips and shared their experiences I will endeavour to do the same, regarding fuel, campsite charges, toll roads and other expenses excluding alcohol and cigs as that would vary according to individuals. It may help someone else to decide on the viability of a longish trip to Southern Europe.
Ally I will send a list of poi over Southern Europe if that may be of use to others on my return.

I've heard a couple of people recommend Croatia any experiences from any one here? Also I've been advised of a truck stop at the former O2? Centre nearer the port anyone able to give directions or coordinates?

Depends on which ferry I suppose. But yes it is a bit far from the ferry at Dublin, perhaps I should have started a new thread rather than been lazy.
The debate at home is head from France South/East torn between Greece and Croatia and anywhere in between.

That truck stop near the 02 in now in the docks it's self,
Drive into the docks and you cannot miss it, (from memory)

Why not just drive into the check in of the ferry you are due to get and pull over to one side (inside the security fence of course), they don't mind once you are getting the ferry,

We use this ferry a lot, We drive there over night to arrive about an hour before the morning crossing. We book an inside cabin on board £15. You can only book outside window cabins online but the curtains let in too much light and they are £20. Have a good breakfast, a beer if you like. Go to bed Wake up have a shower have the evening meal and your set ready to go. Dock areas are very noisy places to sleep. Enjoy your trip

Thanks we are doing a daytime sailing 9 to 5 so do you get an evening meal as well? We have an inside cabin on line or at least it think we have. Thanks for the advice so far.

If it's like the Belfast/Birkenhead one you get nothing unless you are Harvey freight and get into the Truckers Lounge. Ordinary folk have to pay over the nose for food.

The old Belfast Liverpool crossing used to be like that, not sure if it's still the same since Stenaline took it over
