Cheers guys . Curious as a lot of our existing customers come every 12-15 months , whereas as lot of our "new" customers were used to only doing it when the service interval flashed up . Whicj IMO is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long a time for a motorhome!

Every year here also, especially an oil change if nothing else.

While I do it every year pre mot how necessary is it, with the long life oils and using your motorhome on a frequent basis how many get to the recommended service interval of say 12-15,000 miles per year

At least oil change every year as it can get water in via condensation through standing, but don't do a full service every year

See that is partly why I ask , there's a lot more to a service than just changing the oil! And IMHO , with modern fuel systems , and the shocking amount of bad diesel , changing the fuel filter is the most important . Fiat , the cheeky feckers , have only gone and changed from an inexpensive replaceable element , to a newer filter that costs something around 100 euro!!
For me , on a service , the brakes are also very important , you wouldn't believe the amount of calipers I see half/fully seized , and pads that have loads of meat on them but the friction material starting to break up and/or seperate from the back plate .
Greasing up the links and hinges too , checking the pipes and wires all around , and the fuseholders , there's loads of little jobs that only take a few minutes that need doing and checking , I find.

I have mine done each year. Initially used PHM and had great service. But unfortunately I'm a bit far from PHM and its too much hassle to get the van there for each service. Fortunately, for me, my local indie (who does my cars) is well up to the task.

It's very handy when you've got someone good close to you.

It sure is but unfortunately I've been seeing a little too much of him recently due to my car. Had the timing belt done a only a few months ago. Now my DMF (Flywheel) is on its last legs so I've decided to get it done. Unlikely to get away for less than a grand. On top of that had to replace the exhaust today. If that wasn't enough it started making a whistling noise on the way home. So up to my indie for a quick look and it appears I will need a new brake disc! Not just pads but the disc. To top it all off it also due its service. So a nice big bill to look forward to next week.

When I was at the exhaust fitters today I made a comment about them having the exhaust in stock. The fitter just laughed and said "we are doing these every day of the week. S-Max's, C-Max's, Mondeo's the lot. And many younger than yours." Bloody Ford!

All the item listed waterman will need changing in most cars at some point, but it's a bummer when they all come at once,
but look on the bright side the car should be like new when you are finished,

I hear ya barking but I can't accept that a DMF should be an expected failure point. I know lots of cars, not just Fords, have this problem but surely modern engineering and manufacturing methods can give us a more reliable DMF solution. Apparently, I've been 'lucky' my S-Max is over 7 years old and has 186K kms. Many tales on boards and elsewhere of DMF's failing on much younger cars than mine.

My Dad is on his 5th focus Diesel, never any problem with anyone except for his current one. He bought it new, at approx 20000 km the dual mass flywheel failed and was replaced under warranty then the car started stalling on the road and they replaced some sensor, after this an injector failed and it was just out of warranty, three weeks later another injector failed so he replaced the rest of the injectors, all of those problems occurred in the first two years. It is going ok for the last two years.

Due to the age of Hessy and that i drive it about 20 mile each day and wash it weekly - i would change the Oil (Mineral) every 6 months with an Oil / Air / Fuel Filter replacement every year.

I attach a checklist document i would complete and retain to show the mileage and indicate wear and tear during my ownership. Slightly OTT - but it works for me.
Hope it helps somebody else.

I changed the oil twice last year ( filter once ) as i put up over 5000 miles and use semi-sync oil ,got the fuel filter done and the brake pads changed ,as i felt they were getting old ( 05 van ) but not worn out

Its because its an excel doc, they can contain virus and spamware. I enabled xlxs and xls was already enabled.
