If you drive to the end of Ayr seafront there is a large car park not in front of houses.
Very few use it and it still has a nice view.
That man is a tw*t

Surely there is a by law which prevents camping or a maximum stay.

Oh I am sure they will not be long putting one in place.

Oh hang on it's Scotland, Andy Strangeway put a stop to that :) Good for Andy: http://andystrangeway.wordpres…t-parking/

Whilst it is probably not great for the Motorhome cause, the guy is paying his council tax on his house so is paying for the service of bins being emptied, is fully legal, seems to be staying within his bay and is disabled so within his right to park there.

Jealousy is a major factor in the complaints.

Interesting how the votes are going..

I am jealous also, jealous it's not me parked there.

I see nothing wrong other than the author of the story called the motorhome "ancient"!

It appears to be in good order, looks very clean and according to some of the write up's, it's taxed, insured and is displaying a disabled driver tag. The owner appears to be within the law.

Consider me prejudiced: But I would probably have a different opinion if it was a beat up old panel van with a smoking chimney and a few vagrant hippies living in it, causing trouble for the locals. But this chap seems to be respectable (assumption) and enjoying his van to the full and God be with him.

I recon this "media story" was triggered by a bored local that simply believes the owner has no right to be there...

This type of situation is a gleaming example of a typical "first world" problem. >_<

See if I put my binoculars on, I could get annoyed at what goes on around me... no where near any houses.

Stayed in Ayr two weeks ago with our campervan...personally have found this disgraceful, he should be moved on immediately....we even used the shower facilities in Citadel, £8.50 for five and we used the dry gym facilities so lovely as no swimmers in and out. Its this sort of thing that would make locals wary of campervans.
