LHD Specific Parts?

Hi folks,

So I've taken the plunge into the world of Camper ownership (details, and I'm sure many more questions to follow :) )

I was just tring to sort myself out with a spare accelerator and clutch cable for the van ( a 1996 2.5td Ducato - LHD)...

Asked a supplier on ebay and he was unable to tell me if the ones he supplied were suitable for both Left and Right Hand Drive.

Would anybody know if these parts are interchangeable please, and if not, where you source your Left Hand Drive only parts?

Hi Ciaran = welcome to the Motorhoming BUG :D This site is great for help, advice and good criac

I have LHD and with exception of floor mats i havent seen many parts that are not interchangeable nor gaining these parts from any supplier.

The important things I find are your Engine Type/Chassis type/Year
Why do you need a "Spare" clutch and Accelerator Cable?

There are a number of fanastic suppliers in Europe - Germany and Portugal are great for availabilty and prices - P&P steep - but if you get a checklist of parts/upgrades/repalcements and contact them - they will give discount.

I am sure others will assist with your queries. Keep her lit

Hiya,

Thanks for the speedy reply - well, i aleays like to carry a couple of spares that might make the difference between being stuck at the side of the road or not - it's a nearly 20 year old van, and my Da used to have a Ducato of similar vintage and said they both needed replacing over the years...in my last 'camper' (on old VW T2) the accelerator cable snapped when I was down in Cork, and I was back on the road in 20 minutes :)

It's just, with the pedal layout obviously being different from LHD to RHD, I suspect the cables may be different lengths...
