Hi all - ive been reading several blogs on this and other sites from campers wild camping for weeks at a time ( theflansvan is one ) and unless you are travelling by the shannon and use the waterways card mentioned - where can you empty your tanks ?
Is it possible to visit a campsite and pay a nominal fee to do so ?
if not i would love to hear how you all do it !

I have stopped in Camac Valley when passing to empty and refresh tanks and it has cost me the ground space rental price for one night even though I was in and out within the hour and never touched the pitch. To expect it for free would be cheeky IMHO - a nominal up to the price of a nights ground rent fee is fair I think.

Most people stay the odd night on a site and use the services.

We would use the odd site as well to use the services . We are lucky John & Bizz would pee in the hedge and i can hold mine in if needed lol There are plenty of public toilets in all the villages so just use your initiative .

We prefer to wild camp at every opportunity so tend to limit our toilet usage to night time emergencies and use public toilets/supermarkets etc when we can, touring in France etc most of the aires have toilet disposal which is great not too sure about local aires here. On the very rare occasion that we stay on a campsite to use services I make sure to use of all facilities and get my moneys worth ! :bandit:

we just spent two weeks in our campervan, Northern Ireland and Scotland...we wild camped the whole time....only paid £6 in SpringHill national trust site. We pulled into many a caravan park and asked to get water and empty toilet and they ranged from £25 pound to £46.99 (Cruzlean Caravan Club) to use their services. No-one offered anything free but to be fair we didnt expect free. Eventually we stopped and just bought bottled water in supermarket. never needed esb as tv off battery! We showered at local swimming pools.
