We are going to Trabolgan next month with our grandson. I know we could do it easily in a day but he wants to be there early morning so we are going the day before. Anyone know of a Stop Over or Site around the Cashel area ore route. We want to go further than Camac Valley.

Hi, there is a nice campsite beneath the Rock of Cashel, within walking distance of town centre and Rock. Small, takes only about 6 units and not cheap. It is called Cashel Lodge, Dundrum Road, (R505), Cashel. GPS N52.31.219, W007.53771. (Loc8.code: RX3-95-SC7).
See www.cashel-lodge.com.

The Apple Farm in Cahir is only a small bit further on than Cashel and near the Motorway, Jack!
I have never been there as it is too near home, but I have heard that it is very reasonable and good. I think there is a review in the review section of the forum.

I was in the Appple last year. Very cheap and very clean. ( I don't think they take dogs, if you have one travelling)

Ken, we will be staying there the 14th August on our way down. Then at Trabolgan from 15-22nd Aug. It will be a non stop trip back as Harry wants to go to some Pop Concert in Belfast. The things we do for our grandchildren.
